About this Service

Dentistry That Children Actually Enjoy

Children’s experiences at the dentist in their early years shape their attitude to oral health for the rest of their lives. That’s why our paediatric dental care is designed to be positive, gentle, and even exciting.

Dr. Tasmia has a natural warmth with young patients. Our clinic environment is welcoming for children — with a calm, friendly approach that puts anxious little ones at ease from the moment they arrive.

When to start: The British Dental Association recommends a child’s first dental visit as soon as their first tooth appears, or by age 1 at the latest.

Answers to Paediatric Dentistry Patients Ask Most

At what age should my child first visit the dentist?
Ideally, a child's first dental visit should happen when their first tooth appears, or by age 1. Starting early normalises the dentist and allows us to catch any concerns early.
Should I worry about baby teeth? They'll fall out anyway.
Baby teeth matter enormously. They hold space for permanent teeth, aid speech development and allow proper chewing. Decay in baby teeth can cause pain, infection and affect the permanent teeth beneath them.
How do I prepare my child for their first visit?
Keep it positive and matter-of-fact. Read children's books about dentist visits. Avoid saying "it won't hurt" (which implies it might) or expressing your own dental anxiety. We'll take care of the rest.
My child is terrified. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Dental anxiety in children is very common and we are well-equipped to handle it with patience and gentle technique. Sometimes the first visit is just about meeting us and having a look around — no treatment at all. We build trust gradually.
